A Jacobean tragedy centering around the Duchess, an independent and rebellious widow who marries against her brothers threats. The corrupted and greedy men destroy the lives of the Duchess and her family when they discover that she has married beneath her class, defying their orders. This play explores love, betrayal, and the corruption of power.
